The victim (E244) was a named male. The victim was arrested and refouled through Tumen border detention centre to Onsong County MPS detention centre. The victim was tortured at Onsong County detention centre. The victim was transferred to Pukchong County MSS detention centre. The victim was interrogated and confessed to believing in Jesus. An MSS Guidance Officer threatened the victim by slamming a wooden club on a table during an interrogation. The victim shouted louder than the MSS Guidance Officer while ripping his shirt off, saying: ‘If it is a crime to believe in God, kill me with that club! Why is it a crime to believe in God? We believed in God in China because we were tired and hungry’. Because other prisoners were kept in silence, the shouts of the victim could be heard by prisoners in different cells and so the victim was gagged, stripped naked, and beaten.
