The victim (E80) was a named male in his 30s in 2010. The victim was arrested in China while studying the bible. The victim was interrogated and tortured in Changchun Chubei penal facility. The victim was forced to sit on a wooden chair with a backrest made of corrugated iron on the backrest and a crossbar across the face. The victim was tortured and interrogated in the chair for 3 days and deprived of sleep for that period. The victim was transferred to Baishan detention centre and detained for a known period month. The victim was refouled on a known date to Ryanggang Provincial MSS detention centre. The victim confessed to studying the bible and adhering to Christianity during interrogation. The victim was witnessed squatting on the floor of the interrogation room and was severely malnourished. The victim’s spine had become deformed.
