The victim (E348) is a named female. She had been reported for attending a church in China. The victim was arrested in a named location in China and transferred to Hunchun border detention centre. The victim was refouled and interrogated about their religious activities for a known period of months at Kyongwon County MPS office. The victim was verbally abused and beaten by an MSS officer. The victim was transferred for further interrogation. She was forced to undergo an induced abortion on a named date in 2008. Three named MPS officers took the victim to Kyongwon County Hospital on a known date based on a ruling that pregnant women could not be tried at court. She was handcuffed and injected by a named doctor. On a named date, the victim had an induced abortion and aborted a 5-month-old child. The named doctor injected an unknown substance into the child and the body was placed into a plastic bag and buried. The victim was detained at the hospital for 1 day and was returned to Kyongwon County MPS office. On a named date, the victim was placed on trial and sentenced to a known period of imprisonment at Chongori re-education camp (No.12). The victim was placed on a train and was forced to walk 4km from Hoeryong train station to Chongori re-education camp. She was forced to undergo an invasive internal cavity inspection at Chongori re-education camp. The victim was consistently physically assaulted by MPS officers over a period of years at Chongori re-education camp. The victim suffered lasting physical damage and weighed 27kg upon their release and could no longer walk. Certain details are withheld for the victim’s safety.
